Grade Specific Information
Pre K
Pre K Registration for general education students closed on Friday 5/19.
There is no transportation provided for PreK general education families.
ESY Pre K Registration is open. For special education PreK Students, in addition to IEP outlined goals and related services, this program will focus on enhancing early development skills.
Cos Cob Elementary School
9:00 am to 12:00 pm
July 3rd to August 4th
Grades K-4
All K-4 Students:
- We will be at Cos Cob Elementary School from Monday July 3rd through Friday August 4th. There will be no classes on Tuesday July 4th
Registration for general education students closed on Friday 5/19.
Programs Available

Elementary School Invited Students:
- Students in Grades K-4 (Rising Grades 1 - 5) will receive letters from GPS Central Office inviting them to register for Summer School programming for Literacy and Numeracy. Students were recommended based on a combination of data points (whether or not they attained benchmark, and/or if they met their expected growth). The registration is included in the email. The focus is on those students who require additional opportunities. At this time, we cannot open registration to all students.
- 5 weeks for 2 hours daily: 60 minutes for Literacy and 60 minutes for Numeracy
- Hubspot based transportation available, sheet above details stops and times.
- Elementary School Special Education Students:
- Students who receive Special Education but are NOT eligible for Extended School Year as indicated on their IEPs:
- No Special Education, or Related Services will be provided - students will receive accommodations and modifications
- 5 weeks for 2 hours (Focus on Literacy including Writing, and Numeracy component).
- Letters have gone out to parents of students who would be eligible for summer school based on a combination of data points (whether or not they attained benchmark, and/or if they met their expected growth).
- Students who receive Special Education, who ARE eligible for Extended School Year as indicated on their IEPs:
- Letters will be sent to parents of students who are eligible for ESY based on the PPT decision as indicated in the IEP document.
- 5 weeks for 4 hours (with Special Education Services and Related Services addressing IEP objectives with a focus on Literacy, including Writing, Numeracy and Social Emotional Learning)
- Transportation provided upon request.
Grades 5-8
Dates and Location
- We will be at Eastern Middle School from Monday July 3rd through Friday August 4th. There will be no classes on Tuesday July 4th
Middle School Math Course Registration will be open on April 1st and will close on June 9th.
Math (Acceleration Courses):
- These courses are for Rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
- 5 weeks for 2 to 3 hours daily.

High School
Placement and Acceleration Tests
For math courses, Greenwich offers a Prove to Move option for students. The purpose is to provide students with an opportunity to prove they have the requisite knowledge to accelerate. Students need to PROVE they have adequate content knowledge to MOVE to the next level. Hence the phrase “Prove to Move”.
For students who wish to advance their math course, but are unable to enroll in the full summer school class, we offer a "Test Only Option". Dates and registration links are below. Students must register to take the appropriate math tests at least 48 hours in advance of the test date.
Math Acceleration Placement Test Dates:
- Wednesday, June 21 tests begin between 8 am and 12 pm.
- Thursday, July 27 tests begin between 8 am and 12 pm.
- Wednesday, August 23 tests begin between 8 am and 12 pm.
All registration is completed using the Google Form linked.
