Summer School

Students in PreK have received letters from GPS Central Office inviting them to register for Summer School programming for Literacy and Numeracy. The registration is included in the email. The focus is on those students who require additional opportunities. At this time, we cannot open registration to all students. If we are able to add recommended students, you will receive an email. This summer, our program will take place at New Lebanon School.  There is no charge for participating in the program which runs from July 2 to August 7, 2024. 

For special education PreK Students, in addition to IEP outlined goals and related services, this program will focus on enhancing early development skills.

Elementary School Invited Students:

• Students in Grades K-4 (Rising Grades 1 - 5) have received letters from GPS Central Office inviting them to register for Summer School programming for Literacy and Numeracy. Students were recommended based on a combination of data points (whether or not they attained benchmark, and/or if they met their expected growth). The registration is included in the email. The focus is on those students who require additional opportunities. At this time, we cannot open registration to all students. If we are able to add recommended students, you will receive an email.
• 5 weeks for 3 hours daily: 90 minutes for Literacy and 90 minutes for Numeracy.

Even if you registered already, we ask that you fill out this simple Google Form to let us know your child will be coming.

Dates: July 2 - August 7
Hours: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Summer School Location: New Lebanon School

These are your options:

• Full block: 90 minutes of literacy and 90 minutes of math (transportation available via hubstops) - OR- 
• Math tutoring: two or four times per week of 30 minutes sessions (transportation not provided)
• Literacy: two or four times per week of 30 minutes sessions (transportation not provided)

Math (Acceleration Courses):

• These courses are for rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Please register on Middle School section.
• 5 weeks for 3 hours daily.

• 5 weeks for 2 hours daily including 60 minutes Literacy and 60 minutes Math,

High School Students:

• Students from Grades 9 - 12.
• 5 weeks for 2, 3, 4 or 5 hours daily (depending on course)

Elementary School Special Education Students:

• Students currently in grades K-4 (rising 1-5) who receive Special Education but are NOT eligible for Extended School Year as indicated on their IEPs:
  • Letters have gone out to parents of students who would be eligible for summer school based on a combination of data points (whether or not they attained benchmark, and/or if they met their expected growth).
  • 5 weeks for 3 hours (Focus on Literacy including Writing, and Numeracy component).
  • No Special Education, or Related Services will be provided - students will receive accommodations and modifications.
• Students currently in grades K-4 (Rising 1-5) who receive Special Education, who ARE eligible for Extended School Year as indicated on their IEPs:
  • Letters will be sent to parents of students who are eligible for ESY based on the PPT decision as indicated in the IEP document.
  • 5 weeks for 4 hours (with Special Education Services and Related Services addressing IEP objectives with a focus on Literacy, including Writing, Numeracy and Social Emotional Learning).

Dates: July 2 - August 7
Hours: 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Summer School Location: New Lebanon School

These are your options:

• Full day 8:30-12:00 PM (transportation available via hub stops)
• Math tutoring: two or four times per week of 30 minutes sessions (transportation not provided)
• Literacy: two or four times per week of 30 minutes sessions (transportation not provided)

REGISTER

Secondary Special Education Students: 

• Students who receive Special Education, but are NOT eligible for Extended School Year as of March 12, 2024:
  • Letters have gone out to parents of students who would be eligible for summer school based on combination of data points (whether or not they attained benchmark, and/or if they met their expected growth).
  • 5 weeks for 3 hours (Focus on Literacy, including Writing, and Numeracy).
  • No Special Education, or Related Services will be provided - students will receive accommodations and modifications.
• Students who receive Special Education, who ARE eligible for Extended School Year as of their IEPs as of March 12, 2024.
  • Letters have gone out to parents of students who would be eligible for ESY based on the PPT decision as indicated in the IEP document.
  • 5 weeks for 3 hours (with Special Education Services addressing IEP objectives with a focus on Literacy, including Writing, Numeracy and Social Emotional Learning).

Math Acceleration Placement Test Dates:

• Wednesday, June 26
• Wednesday, July 24
• Wednesday, August 21

All registration is completed using the Google Form linked.
