The mission of the International School at Dundee is to lead students toward becoming life-long learners and responsible citizens of the world by teaching, modelling, reinforcing and rewarding the achievement of academic and social/emotional goals that will result in children becoming: Inquirers, Thinkers, Communicators, Risk-Takers, Knowledgeable, Principled, Caring, Open-Minded, Balanced and Reflective.
The Programme of Inquiry (or POI) consists of 6 units of study per grade level (K-5). Each unit is rich with research, thinking, social, organizational and communication skills. To see ISD's POI, click here.
Every 5 years, ISD's entire staff takes one school year to deeply reflect on our teaching practice and assess how our work aligns with the best practice expectations of the International Baccalaureate Organization. When the Self-Study year is complete, we are visited by IB representatives who review our reflection to verify that our self-assessment is accurate. We look forward to this opportunity to show the IBO our amazing school! Last year (2015-16) was our most recent Self-Study year and we will be visited by the IBO in November 2016.
