Hamilton Avenue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Magnet School is a wonderfully diverse and close knit community located in the Chickahominy section of Greenwich, CT. The school’s population includes approximately 425 vibrant and remarkable prekindergarten to fifth grade students. Hamilton Avenue school was designated as a STEM magnet school during the 2014-2015 school year. As a part of our magnet school theme undertaking, we adopted an inquiry cycle model to guide STEM instruction. Moreover, we are unique because we offer an exclusive Suzuki Violin, Viola & Cello as well as an Orchestra program. Our dedicated teachers and staff work daily to provide a top quality education for your child(ren). The Design Lab, STEM lab, One-to-One digital learning environment, Student Council, School play, Choral and Instrumental concerts, Art exhibits/shows and Student Docent Lead days at the Bush-Holley Museum are some of the exceptional experiences and entities that broaden our students’ perspectives at Hamilton Avenue STEM Magnet School.
At Hamilton Avenue STEM Magnet School, we are committed to academic, personal and interpersonal growth for students and staff. We work together to instill a love of learning in our students by preparing them to be successful in a rapidly changing and diverse global society. Therefore, leading and learning from an inquiry stance lays the framework for what we do at Hamilton Avenue STEM Magnet School. Consequently, we look forward to partnering with you during this upcoming school year to maximize your child’s learning experience. As a school community we have adopted the Greenwich Public School Norms which we require all members of our learning community (students, staff, parents and community members) to follow. The norms are: “Be Here, Be Honest, Be Safe, Be Courteous, Care for Self and Let Go and Move On”. These norms have been established to ensure that we have positive working relationships with each other that support the needs of the whole child. We reinforce the norms through our PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) program and the implementation of explicit social and emotional learning instruction using the Second Step program. Students will be recognized during the dismissal announcements and town hall meetings.
Our parents are integral to our success at Hamilton Avenue STEM Magnet School. There are numerous ways for you to be involved in this work which you can learn more about by joining the Hamilton Avenue STEM Magnet School’s PTA. We look forward to partnering with you as we work to make learning personal for our students in a manner that is aligned to the Greenwich Public School’s Vision of the Graduate and the District’s Strategic Plan.
