Program Overview:

October 2017 Library Book Display

The GHS Library offers a welcoming space, a friendly staff and a large collection of materials and resources for reading, research and study. Our collection includes more than 35,000 books and e-books and 2,300 DVDs, videos, and audio books. The Library provides online periodical and reference DATABASES available 24/7 from computers anywhere. Students and staff can search the book, audio, and visual collection via the ONLINE CATALOG.

In addition to providing a large space for students to silently study or meet in groups, the library houses two computer labs, multiple meeting rooms, the College and Career Center, and Student Employment Service (SES). A HELP DESK is manned throughout the day by a Library Media Specialist, Media Technology Assistant, and/or a student TechXpert to assist students with any technology, research, or library-related questions.

The Video Production Program also offers four media and film-related courses, including digital video production and broadcast journalism. Please see the GHS Course of Study Guide for more information.

The Junior Book Awards

The Junior Book Awards program was established by the GHS Library in 1968 to honor GHS Juniors who are not only scholars and leaders but most importantly, have a great love of reading. Students are selected by the English, Social Studies, Business and Guidance Departments in a careful process. The Junior Book Awards Ceremony is held every May in the Library.
