Senior Options Program

Senior Experience 2021: General Information

Students in the Class of 2021 in good academic standing have the opportunity to participate in a Senior Experience in the last 4 weeks of senior year. 

Senior Experience will start on Monday, May 24, 2021.  The end date of the Senior Experience will be announced after the BOE sets the date of Graduation in April.    

Prerequisites for participation: 

  • Have and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Have satisfactory attendance and disciplinary records
  • Have not failed or be in danger of failing any senior year course (this includes PE)

2021 Senior Options:
Due to COVID, some modifications have been made to the Senior Experience options.  Students have three options.  They can self design an internship, propose a project or, for this year only, they can have a paid work experience.  All students must complete a minimum of 25 hours per week towards their project.

How to sign up: 

  • Seniors must complete the initial registration form by January 26th.  Students will identify which of the three options they are choosing to pursue and give a brief overview. 
  • Seniors will be contacted by their program Oversite Coordinator via email with further instructions by February 1.    
  • All finalized applications and proposals are due March 24, 2021.   See information below for timelines and contact info for each option.

Self-Design Internship

Students interested in a pre-college career exploration should consider a self-designed internship.  

Please follow these steps to enroll:

  1. Fill out the Google Form above by Jan 26th.
  2. Register on the Senior Options website by January 26th. Your username and password were emailed to you by (search your spam if you did not receive it). Follow these tips on where to click
  3. Explore and contact possible internship sites.
  4. Internship Site Supervisor must register on the Senior Options website or complete the Self-design internship application by March 24th.



Students interested in pursing an independent project to either further a personal interest/passion or to contribute to the community should consider Senior Project. Consider some suggested project ideas or propose one.   

Please review the Project Proposal Overview and Timeline and follow these steps to enroll:

  1. Fill out the Google Form above by Jan 26th.
  2. Join the Schoology - Course DP2M-T843-2C77V, find a faculty mentor and draft a proposal.  Proposals must be submitted to Schoology by February 26
  3. Final proposal approvals will be completed by March 24th. 

Work Experience

Through the Senior Work Experience, students will have hands-on experience in an established place of employment.  This option is best for students who presently hold employment with a W2 on file.  Students will need to document their hours through providing proof of pay.  

Please follow these steps to enroll:

  1. Fill out the Google Form above by Jan 26th.
  2. Contact the employer to confirm intent for employment in May and June of 2021.
  3. Complete the Work Experience Proposal by February 26th. 
  4. GHS will verify employment and notify seniors once approved.  
  5. Join Schoology Course - MPV4-ZP8K-Q986B This is how students will submit proof of hours in the Spring.
