GIRLS CIRCLEThe 6th Grade Girls Circle is returning! The YWCA Greenwich is so excited to bring this great after school program back to Eastern where we will hang out and get real about “girl code”. Join us on Thursday afternoons from 3:00-3:45 PM for crafts, games and other activities where we will develop leadership skills, learn to navigate relationships with peers and become empowered, all while letting loose and just having fun!  If interested in registering please contact Michelle Friedman, MichelleE_Friedman@greenwich.k12.ct.us

GEOGRAPHY BEE: Round One of the National Geographic Geography Bee will be held on Thursday, November 7 from 2:45-4:00. Round Two will be on Thursday, November 14. This competition is open to all students. Practice questions are online at the National Geographic Geography Bee website. To participate, sign up outside room 116.  Space is limited to 30 students so sign up today! Any questions see Ms. Bleemer.

ATT: All Students Who Plan to Tryout for EMS Boys or Girls Basketball
Beginning Dec. 2, 3, 5 & 6th:

You MUST complete a hard copy (2 pages) of the EMS Winter Competitive Athletics Permission Form and place it in the basket labeled "Sports Forms" in the EMS Main Office.  
THE PERMISSION FORM MUST BE HANDED IN BY WEDNESDAY, NOV. 20TH (NO PERMISSION FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DEADLINE).   
 Additionally, you MUST have a Sports Physicalon file with the nurse, that is current both during tryouts and throughout the season if you make the team.  If your physical is due to expire before tryouts or before the end of the Sports season, a new physical must be submitted prior to tryouts and/or participation.  

During the month of November, lists of students cleared for tryouts will be posted outside the gym.  Students should check these lists, to make sure their paperwork was processed and that they are approved to. tryout.  The lists will be updated several times per week.  If you have any questions, please email or see Mr. Knop.

FALL INTRAMURALS: (Monday, September 9th – Friday, November 8th

**No Indoor Soccer on October 1st and 29th.  No Whiffle on October 14th and 28th if it is raining.  No Floor Hockey on October 17th.  No Basketball on October 25th.  

*All intramurals will initially meet on the boy’s side of the gym for attendance and to meet the teacher in charge.  Students can enter between 2:45-2:55 without a pass, but need one between 2:55-3:05. No students will be admitted into intramurals after 3:05 PM, as teams will be formed and games will begin at this time.  Intramurals will end at 4:00PM and the late busses will leave at 4:10pm. 

Mondays:  Fitness Center and Touch Football

Tuesdays: Tennis and Indoor Soccer
(no indoor soccer on 10/29)

Thursdays: Floor Hockey and Tennis
(no floor hockey on 10/17)

Fridays: Basketball & Fitness Center
(no basketball on 10/25)


**Tennis will change to Ping Pong in the small cafe and Flag football will change to Whiffle in the gym on rainy days.
