Residency Verification

RESIDENCY VERIFICATION - Effective July 1, 2016 (Updated 1/15/21)

WHY
Connecticut General Statute and Board of Education Policy requires students who are enrolled in the Greenwich Public Schools to be residents of the Town of Greenwich. Prior to registering a child in a Greenwich Public School, parents are required to provide proof of residency in the Town of Greenwich.

WHERE:
Parents/Guardians will verify residency at each of their child(ren)'s enrolled school(s).
Sponsors will verify residency by appointment at the Greenwich Board of Education located at 290 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830. Please contact the Residency Office at 203-625-7416 to make your Sponsorship/LLC/Special Circumstance appointment.

WHO:
Required for ALL incoming Pre-K students, Kindergarten students, any students new to the Greenwich Public Schools, and ALL incoming and rising ninth grade students. Parents who move during the school year must resubmit proof of residency. Residency verification for Sponsorship and LLC tenants is by appointment only at the Residency Office, 290 Greenwich Ave. Greenwich, Ct. Please contact the Residency Office at 203-625-7416 to make your appointment.

WHEN:
Residency verification hours for parents/guardians are conducted during your child(ren)’s school's normal operation hours and/or at the Board of Education.
