Havemeyer Building Relocation

The Havemeyer Building currently houses several core administrative functions for Greenwich Public Schools. As the Town evaluates future uses for the Havemeyer property — including a potential redevelopment process now under review by the Havemeyer Building RFP Committee — the district has begun planning for a possible relocation of these administrative operations.

To support that planning, Greenwich Public Schools engaged Fuller & D'Angelo, P.C. to study current space needs, staffing, and operational adjacencies across all administrative departments, and to assess the feasibility of relocating the Facilities Department to the Town-owned Horseneck property.

What the studies found:

  • Administrative departments currently housed at Havemeyer require approximately 22,000 net square feet of space (about 28,700 square feet including corridors, restrooms, and other building infrastructure).
  • The Horseneck site — an existing office building and garage — appears well suited to accommodate the Facilities Department's offices, workshop, and vehicle storage needs, though on-site parking will be limited.
  • The study found the Horseneck site could not also accommodate the Town's Parks and Recreation Department at the same time as the Facilities Department, due to space and vehicle storage constraints.
