Greenwich Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Toni Jones has appointed Mr. Dave Nanarello as permanent Food Services Director for the District, effective today. Mr. Nanarello was serving the District as Interim Food Services Director, leading operations and food service offerings for all Greenwich Public Schools.
"Dave has been a strong leader serving as our Interim Food Services Director since October, and we are thrilled that he will be staying on in this role permanently. He prioritizes continuous improvement within our Food Services Team, and we are grateful for his passion and culinary expertise working in service to our students and staff," said Dr. Jones.
Mr. Nanarello has been with the District since November 2017. Before serving as Interim Food Services Director, he was the Food Service Manager for the elementary and middle schools. His responsibilities as a Food Service Manager included: managing operations for 14 kitchens and cafeterias across grades K-8, focusing on continuous improvement of breakfast and lunch preparation and service to students, and expanding nutritional awareness through student councils and parent participation. Prior to joining the District, Mr. Nanarello served as District Executive Chef for Westport Public Schools, Director of Dining Services for Greenwich Academy, and other management positions across the corporate sector. Mr. Nanarello holds a degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America and numerous certificates in Food Service management and safety.
