GHS Students Recognized for PSAT/NMSQT® Performance

Thirty-six Greenwich High School (GHS) students have been recognized as Commended Students in the 2021 National Merit® Scholarship Program. Commended Students are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.

According to the National Merit® Scholarship Program (NMSC), "About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2021 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of the more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)."

Greenwich High School Principal Mr. Ralph Mayo shared, "We are so proud of our National Merit Commended Students. These students are hardworking, talented and truly deserving of this prestigious recognition. I know our entire team at GHS shares in the excitement we have for them."

More details on the formal recognition for these students by the Board of Education are forthcoming.
