Patricia Cirigliano
Ms. Cirigliano is an English and Theater teacher at GHS. She was a recipient of the Greenwich Public Schools Distinguished Teacher Award in 1999. She graduated from Colby College Phi Beta Kappa, Magnum Cum Laude with distinction in both Theater and English. Her graduate degree is from Pace University. She also studied at acting at the Circle-in-the-Square Professional School in New York City and at Regents College in London. Here at GHS she has directed A Little Night Music, Into the Woods(1995 and 2007), High School Musical, Sound of Music, Carousel, Les Misérables, Company, 42nd Street, The Pajama Game, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Annie, West Side Story, Grease, Fiddler on the Roof, Pippin, Bye Bye Birdie, Godspell, Oklahoma, Wizard of Oz (1999and 2008), Anything Goes, The Boyfriend, City of Angels, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Working . In Greenwich she has performed with St. Catherine’s Players (Nancy in Oliver, Mrs. Peterson in Bye Bye Birdie), The Greenwich Shakespeare Company (Viola in Twelfth Night and Edgar in King Lear ), Connecticut Playmakers (Marta in Company, Petra in A Little Night Music) and Cameo Theater (Ellen in The Art of Dining). Other favorite roles include Desiree Armfeldt in A Little Night Music, Josie Hogan in A Moon for the Misbegotten, Kate in Taming of the Shrew, Lois Lane/Bianca in Kiss Me Kate, Evilene in The Wiz, Dr. Livingstone in Agnes of God, and Babe Williams in Pajama Game. Patty is the creator of the Broadway Musical Workshop and Broadway Musical Revue formats and the Onstage program.
Ms. Cirigliano was one of the teachers honored in 2005 when the GHS Theater program the Outstanding Schools Theater Program Award, a national award for exemplary programs in educational theater which the program had received previously in 1995 and 2000.
