The transformation of Parkway's "Library" into a Library Learning Commons and Innovation Space began a year ago. This transformation has gone beyond creating a new physical space, replacing a traditional room filled with bookshelves and books. It now also plays an important role in delivering and extending the curriculums, adding a hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) approach to learning.
Working through the engineering design process in STEAM and Tinker labs, students develop the essential 21st century skills of critical thinking, communication, creativity and collaboration.
Grants from both Parkway's PTA and the Greenwich Alliance have allowed us to add a variety of high and no-tech resources for our students to use.
