Prerequisite: Students must have a willingness to supply photographic
film and printing paper. Access to a camera is most desirable. (A limited
number of 35mm cameras are available through the Art Department).
This course covers the basics of black and white photography
including an understanding of camera functions, film development, and darkroom
printing techniques. Students will also explore the medium as a fine art.


INTERMEDIATE PHOTOGRAPHY
1st and 2nd semester

Prerequisite: ½ Credit and a grade of B or better in Photography.

An advanced level course with an emphasis on print quality,
composition, and the exploration of photography combined with other art media.
Students will do a variety of assignments using complex techniques and produce
high quality work suitable for a portfolio and/or exhibition.


ADVANCED PHOTOGRAPHY
DIGITAL DARKROOM
1st and 2nd

Prerequisite:
Photography and Intermediate Photography. Students must have a willingness to supply digital printing
paper. Access to both digital and
manual cameras is most desirable (A limited number of cameras are available
through the Art Department).
This class will cover facets of
digital photographic printing starting with the scanning of negatives, slides
and print images. It will also
include digital capturing, Photoshop techniques for image refinement, and
options for output (printing, E-mail, etc.). Papers, image size, and the management of digital files will
also be included.
