BEGINNER COMPUTER ARTS
1st and 2nd semester

Students learn that technology is a unique tool for creating images and expressing ideas and that this tool is distinctive from traditional art media such as paint or clay. Students will use a variety of programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create works of art. Students will develop a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.

INTERMEDIATE COMPUTER ARTS
1st and 2nd Semester 6 Blocks ½ Credit

Pre-requisite: Computer Arts and a grade of B+ or teacher approval.
Students in Intermediate Computer Arts will continue using the program used in Computer Arts, but will be challenged with more complex activities so that they may learn of the possibilities of using technology to express ideas. Students will also be introduced to programs such as Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, and I-Movie. This course will allow students to work independently and develop areas of interest such as: Graphic Design, Digital Painting, Digital Drawing, Computer Animation, Illustration, Character Design, Graphic Novels, and Visual Effects.

ADVANCED COMPUTER ARTS
1st and 2nd semester
081365 / 081366 6 Blocks ½ Credit
Prerequisite: Intermediate Computer Arts and a grade of B+ or teacher approval.
Students in Advanced Computer Arts will work closely with their teacher to develop complex ideas for their projects. Students will work independently and further expand their area of interest. Advanced Computer Arts may be taken for multiple semesters.
