TASK DESCRIPTION

Educators will view and take notes during a presentation on the principles of differentiation.
- Differentiation Graphic Organizer (content, process, product)
- "Working" graphic organizer (3 pages) - educators will complete the non-tech column -- examining articles and reviewing presentation.
- Powerpoint Presentation on Differentiation (.pdf format)
- Powerpoint Presentation in original format

Educators will receive a classroom scenario to which they will refer throughout the workshop.
- Scenarios 1 - 3 (secondary examples)
- Scenarios 1-3 (elementary examples)
Using a graphic organizer and group share, educators brainstorm answers to the following:
- What are potential barriers that may exist for students within your given lesson scenario?
Educators will be introduced to the concept of Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

- UDL Handout - What is UDL?
After exploration of technology/online and non-tech tools and resources, educators will use their scenario and the pre-observation conference worksheet to generate questions to support refinement of responses to question 1C.
Educators will be able to recommend and share at least three specific and concrete strategies, tools and resources and describe how these could best address barriers in the classroom.
