INTRODUCTION VIDEO PRODUCTION Part 1 1st and/or 2nd Semester 161105 / 161106 3 Blocks ¼ Credit
This is an introductory course in skills and techniques of operating video and digital editing equipment . It will give students with an interest in video production a working experience in various technical and artistic aspects of the video medium. Through practical production experience, students will acquire an understanding of video as a communication medium and can explore the career opportunities.
INTERMEDIATE VIDEO PRODUCTION Part 2 1st and/or 2nd semester 161125 / 161126 3 Blocks ¼ Credit
Prerequisite: Introduction to Video Production I or permission of instructor.
For students who have successfully completed the introductory class, Part I, and want to build on the skills learned. There will be continued hands-on experience in video production, as well as instruction in using high-end digital video cameras and editing equipment. This course will ready interested students for the advanced course in the Video production sequence.
ADVANCED VIDEO PRODUCTION 1st and/or 2nd semester 161205 / 161206 6 Blocks ½ Credit
Prerequisite: Introduction to Video Production Part 1 and Part 2 or written permission of the instructor and demonstrated ability in Video Production.
Students develop more sophisticated and complex produc- tions, using special effects and inserting computer graphics to produce, direct, crew and edit school cable TV programs. They also learn video art, music video, TV drama and com- puter video, on an individual project basis. They may develop a video portfolio, which can be used for college and career placement.
