Dear NSS Parents, Teachers and Staff,

We hope everyone is enjoying summer and is looking forward to the upcoming school year as much as we are. We are pleased to welcome you all, both returning and new families, to North Street School. We look forward to working with our fantastic teachers and staff, under the leadership of our Principal, Dr. Charles Smith and Assistant Principal, Ms. Mary Grandville.

We believe the PTA is an important part of the North Street School experience. Our foremost goal is to provide interesting and informative, educational programs for our children to enhance their learning; be it academic, cultural or social. The PTA also supports our teachers and staff, unifying our school community. We are eager to hear your ideas and suggestions and to act as your representatives to the Administration and within the Town of Greenwich.  

To give you the option to download and print information that is of interest to you, many of our flyers and notices are available online under the PTA tab of the NSS website. You will also find hard copies of certain communications material available in the flyer ladder outside the school office. Each Friday you will receive our PTA Newsletter, The Dragon’s Tale via email and hard copy. The Dragon’s Tale will provide you with information about upcoming programs and events happening at school. Please make an effort to read it each week to keep abreast of current school information. The best way for you to contact us is through our email at nsspta@gmail.com.

In order to fulfill our mission for a unified parent/teacher community, we strive for 100% PTA membership. Our primary goal is participation, and dues are as low as $20/family or $5/staff member. For your convenience, a donation envelope is enclosed. As a PTA we financially support many wonderful educational and cultural programs at NSS. Please visit our web pages for details on the array of enrichment activities we provide. As a member of the PTA we welcome your input into policy and programs, and you are entitled to a vote at all PTA meetings and to receive an NSS PTA directory.

Joining the PTA requires no volunteer time. However, we hope that all families during your years at NSS will want to share some of your time and talents with all our children. On our website you will find a roster of PTA positions, if you are interested in helping with any of these committees, please contact the respective chairperson. You can also learn more about PTA volunteer opportunities at the Kick-Off Coffee on Tuesday, August 28, at 9:00am.  Enjoy the rest of your summer in the meantime!
