John DeLuca

AP Biology, Program Administrator: John received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton, and graduate degrees from Southern Connecticut State University. He has taught biology in high school for 15 years including UConn’s Principles of Biology I and II as a certified Early College Experience Instructor.

Biology: Ben is a native of Connecticut and received his bachelor of arts in the biological sciences from Connecticut College in 2006. After graduation, he worked as an educator at a local children’s museum, focusing on hands-on learning across a variety of disciplines.

Richard Baxley

AP Environmental Science, Forensics: Rick's interests have always been in science due to some amazing science teachers he had in high school. He graduated from Roger Williams University with a BS in biology and chemistry and got his MS in secondary education at the University of New Haven. In his spare time, he combines his interests in biochemistry and video games in the scientist designed game, FoldIt!

Andrew Bramante

Chemistry, Science Research: Before GHS, Andy was a design specialist for 15 years, working with instrumentation companies such as Foxboro, Hitachi, and PerkinElmer. Author of several materials and life science application papers, Andy is also an Adjunct Lecturer at Sacred Heart University, and was named the Greenwich Teacher of the Year for the 2011-2012 school year.

Jenna Carlson

Biology, Learning Facilitator: Jenna's passion for teaching comes through on field excursions to salt marshes, whale watches, and more; she loves showing her students biology in action.  She is also a professor at the University of Connecticut (UConn) where she has the opportunity to educate master’s students about teaching science.

Parker Gambino

Biology: Parker teaches Biology at Greenwich High School.  He has been teaching at GHS since 1996. His Ph.D. in Entomology was received from University of California at Berkeley.

Sarah Goldin

Biology, AVID: Dr. Goldin has a B.S in Molecular Biology from Princeton, an M.S. in Biotechnology from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg (ZA), and a Ph.D in Genetics and Development from Columbia University. She is the author of 7 journal articles as well as a chapter in the multi-volume series, "Inborn Errors of Development" (Oxford University Press).

Genta Gusho

Physics: Genta was born in Albania.  After obtaining her B.S. in Physics from the University of Tirana, she went to MIT for her Masters in Engineering.  Her favorite activity in physics class is the forces and momentum laboratory.

Lindsey Jones

Biology: Lindsey received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Fairfield University and her Master's in Science Education from Southern Connecticut State University. In her spare time, she loves to go fishing, play with her two golden retrievers, play guitar, and sing!

Ellen Lewis

Physics: Ellen earned her B.S. in Physics from Fairfield University and her M.S. in Natural Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  She has taught for 15 years, including 13 here at Greenwich High.

Paul Ludwig

Biology: Originally from Michigan, Paul's education and various employment opportunities allowed him to live and work throughout the U.S. His formal education is in biology, marine biology and chemistry. He feels fortunate to have landed in Greenwich and looks forward to continue working with the Greenwich community.

Wanda Moccio

Chemistry:  Wanda is a 25 year veteran, having taught Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and Earth Science at every level from practical through AP.  She is looking forward to retiring in 2015 and then volunteering to help students in her community and working on habitat conservation projects.

Biology, Instructional Coach: Katie graduated from Sacred Heart University with a B.S. in Biology and an M.A. in Education. She grew up near the beach on Long Island, which stimulated her passion for biology. In her spare time she enjoys distance running and kickboxing.

Biology, Integrated Science: Sarah is in her second year at Greenwich High School.  She is frequently found dressing up as different cell parts.  Outside of the classroom she coaches the JV Dance team and is a certified Zumba instructor.

John Vellardito

Biology, Integrated Science: John has been teaching students in a variety of biology courses and integrated science at Greenwich High School since 2003, including UConn’s Principles of Biology. Prior to changing careers to teach biology, he worked 12 years in the private health care and information services industry.

Jerusha Vogel

Chemistry, Integrated Science: Jerusha taught Physical Science and Chemistry in MA for 12 years before joining the Greenwich Staff in 2011. In 2005 Jerusha was inducted into the North Eastern Section of the ACS Aula Laudis Society for distinguished contributions to chemistry education. She was president of the New England Association of Chemistry Teachers from 2009-2011.
