Sailing Facility

The Greenwich High School Sailing Team is pleased to announce that it will return to Grass Island this spring for the 2008 sailing season.  This will be the team's fourth season at this venue utilizing both the town landing and the Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club.  Greenwich High School Sailing would like to thank members of the Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club for supporting the team.  The team would also like to thank the marine department for approving use of the Grass Island public landing and town facility.

Directions to Grass Island from Greenwich High School:
Take a right hand turn out of the Greenwich High School parking lot to head south on Hillside Ave.  Turn right onto route one south.  Travel for 8/10ths of a mile.  Turn left onto Mason street.  Travel through a stop sign and three traffic lights.  Travel through another stop sign where Greenwich Hospital will be on the right.  At the end of Mason street turn right onto Steamboat Road.  At the first light turn left onto Arch street.  Pass under the railroad tracks and take your immediate right onto Horseneck Road.  Take the first left onto Shore Road.  Take the first left onto Grass Island.  Travel straight (the water is on your left).  The GHS fleet is located in the parking lot just past the guardhouse.  To go to Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club (the sailing team's meeting site) turn right at the guardhouse.  Travel through the parking lot, onto the GBYC drive.

Directions to Grass Island from I-95 South:
Travel on I-95 south to Connecticut Exit #3.  At the end of the ramp take a right onto Arch Street.  Take the first left (before going under the railroad tracks) onto Horseneck Road.  Take the first left onto Shore Road.  Take the first left onto Grass Island.  Travel straight (the water is on your left).  The GHS fleet is located in the parking lot just past the guardhouse.  To go to Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club (the sailing team's meeting site) turn right at the guardhouse.  Travel through the parking lot, onto the GBYC drive.

Directions to Grass Island from I-95 North:
Travel on I-95 North to Connecticut exit #3.  At the end of the ramp take a left onto Arch Street (this will take you under the highway).  Take the first left (before going under the railroad tracks) onto Horseneck Road.  Take the first left onto Shore Road.  Take the first left onto Grass Island.  Travel straight (the water is on your left).  The GHS fleet is located in the parking lot just past the guardhouse.  To to to Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club (the sailing team's meeting site) turn right at the guardhouse.  Travel through the parking lot, on the the GBYC drive.
