In order to help students develop their talents and interests,
we offer a range of sports and activities. Our goal is that all
students participate actively in all aspects of the co-curricular
The middle school intramural sports program provides opportunities for
every student to enjoy a variety of recreational sports activities. The
school emphasizes participation and skill development, coordinated with
physical education instruction. There are no tryouts and no cuts. Every
student has the opportunity to receive instruction and compete on a
The competitive league provides extra practice sessions and inter
school games for children who want to make a greater commitment. This
is a tryout program. Tournaments and workshops are also scheduled as
inter school activities.
The intramural program meets on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and
Fridays from 2:40 to 3:45. Any student may participate as their
schedule permits. Late buses depart at 4:00. Sports seasons operate
throughout the school year, with short breaks between them.
A strong activities program is also integral to the middle school.
Activity periods are scheduled periodically throughout the school year,
designed to help students explore new and different interests.
Music Performing Groups (Chorus. Band. Orchestra. Jazz Band)
The chorus is composed of students who show special interest in vocal
ensemble. Students interested in band or orchestra continue study begun
at the elementary school. Students wishing to begin an instrument at
the middle school are encouraged to do so. Music ensembles rehearse
during the school day as well as before and after school.
Productions are offered each year, including a spring musical.
Various publications are produced by and far students, including a periodic newspaper, the literary magazine, and the yearbook.
