Welcome Letter
August 28th, 2012
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to First Grade! We are off to a great start. We are practicing classroom routines and building our community of caring and thoughtful learners. The students are creating their hopes and dreams for the year. The class is creating rules for listening, communicating and caring for one another.
We also want to inform you that homework will begin after open house. During the open house, we will explain additional homework, procedures, and what will be expected of your child. Beginning today, your child will have independent level books in a reading bag for daily practice. Please have your child read for 20 minutes each day.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We look forward to seeing you at the open house, the evening of September 13th, 2012.
Thank you,
The First Grade Team
