Parent Portals

The Greenwich Public Schools provide the following resources for parents to access information about your child's academic records and class/courses, and to receive information from the District and schools.

Student Information System: Aspen

What is Aspen?

Aspen is the student information database where grades are posted.

Parents have access to a family account, where they can see information for all of their children:

Questions about grades should be directed to the individual teacher. If your contact information changes, you should contact your school office.
The elementary standards-based grading system does not align with the Aspen gradebook, and thus elementary teachers do not post individual assignment grades there.

There is a link to Aspen in the Schoology account. Email the Parent Portal HelpDesk if you have difficulties with parent accounts: parent_portal@greenwich.k12.ct.us

Secondary students have access to a personal Aspen account where they only see their own posted grades and information. Students having difficulties with accounts should contact the Library Media Specialist at school.

Learning Management System: Schoology

Schoology: Elementary (K-5)

Schoology is the learning management system where teachers link documents and resources, give quizzes, host discussions, and allow for online submissions of some assignments. This is not where posted grades are kept.

Some elementary teachers may use Schoology for homework, but they are not required to do so. Parents may monitor their student’s Schoology account usage by asking their child to provide their login credentials. Students log into Schoology via http://schoology.greenwich.k12.ct.us.

Questions about homework or posted items should be directed to the class teacher.

Schoology: Secondary (6-12)

Schoology is the learning management system where teachers post homework, link documents and resources, give quizzes, host discussions, and allow for online submissions of some assignments. This is not where posted grades are kept.

Secondary parents have access to Schoology via https://www.schoology.com and can see their children's homework and posted class resources. Questions about homework or posted items should be directed to the class teacher.

Parent access is through the primary contact email account given to the district. Directions for new users are sent to primary email addresses. Email the Parent Portal HelpDesk if you have difficulties with parent accounts: parent_portal@greenwich.k12.ct.us

Secondary students access Schoology via http://schoology.greenwich.k12.ct.us using their school email address. Students having difficulties with accounts should contact the Library Media Specialist at school.

Student Success Plans, College and Career PLanning: Naviance

What is Naviance?

Naviance Family Connection is a web-based service designed especially for students and parents to organize and document many of the milestones related to Student Success Plans.

A Student Success Plan is an individualized profile of strengths, interests and milestones created by each student in collaboration with their school counselor, teachers, monitor, advisor or mentor, as well as their parents / guardians. This begins in the 6th grade and continues through 12th grade. It is designed to help every student actively plan for their future, and to achieve their post high school educational and career goals. Each student is provided assistance in setting goals for social, physical and academic growth, meeting rigorous learning expectations in the classroom, and exploring post high school education and career interests.

Use the link provided on the Aspen homepage, or go to the link for your school:

To set up your parent Naviance account, you will need a one-time access code which will be emailed to you from your Guidance office. For parents with more than one student registered in middle school or high school, your child’s school counselor or Guidance assistant can help you link all accounts to one parent username.

Communication System: Parentlink

ParentLink is the District's mass electronic notification system. It is used by the District and School leaders to communicate important information to parents, including emergency alerts. The main telephone number and email address you provide as part of the registration process are accessed for this communication resource. Please be sure you provide up to date contact information to your child's school office staff in order to ensure timely receipt of information.
