maryellen_brezovsky

On Thursday, April 20th, Holocaust survivor Judith Altman spoke with CMS 8th graders to share her experiences. Born in Jasina, Czechoslovakia, Altman survived two different ghettos and was transported by cattle car to Auschwitz. She survived several labor camps as well as a "death march" that ended in the Bergen Belsen concentration camp. Barely alive, she was sick with typhus when the camp was finally liberated by British forces. She is Vice President of the Holocaust Child Survivors of Connecticut.
